JAPONAJI once located at the head of the Chesapeake Bay in Baltimore but now only on the computer you are now using. Be sure to book mark this page. JAPONAJI offers a sampling of its distinctive treasures. More importantly, we are adept at finding sources for hard to find Japanese items. We also served as a resource for decorators, landscapers and architects. Our wares have appeared on the TV show Homicide and were recently selected for a role in a new Julia Roberts, Richard Gere movie.

"AJI" is Japanese for taste or flavor. "JAPON" is French, Spanish and Cantonese for Japan. With apologies to Japanese linguists, we coined the term to represent the universality of the Japanese design aesthetic, also described as "shibumi".
